Lasik Eye Surgery Recovery

Although LASIK eye surgery recovery is fairly rapid, some activities are prohibited for a few days. Your surgeon will discuss these restrictions at your surgery, as well as at your one-day post-operative appointment. These restrictions may include driving, rubbing eyes, reading, exercising, and staying away from dusty or dirty areas. Once you have recovered sufficiently from the surgery, you can resume the activities you enjoy. For a few weeks after surgery, you should avoid driving or participating in activities that may cause further complications.

After surgery, you should wear sunglasses during the day and eye shields at night to protect your eyes from sunlight. Although your vision may be foggy for the first few days after the surgery, it should clear up quickly. You should also avoid rough physical activity, such as sports or weight lifting, for a few days. Your doctor will prescribe eye drops to relieve the discomfort. You can then return to your normal lifestyle. However, your vision will not be perfect for the first couple of weeks.

After undergoing LASIK, your eyes may experience a few days of discomfort, including blurred vision and an itchy feeling. During this time, you should avoid wearing contact lenses or eye lotions. During this time, you should avoid using computers or other screens. Also, if you are involved in contact sports, you should wear eye protection. LASIK eye surgery recovery can take anywhere from two to six months. You can resume most normal activities within a few weeks, but it is important to avoid excessive use of computer and sun exposure for at least 72 hours.

If you have undergone LASIK eye surgery, you may experience a slight blurriness in your vision for a few days. It's normal, but your vision will likely improve after a day or two. Most patients have vision of 20/20 or better within a few days. The recovery time depends on your eye condition, and the type of LASIK you have had. In some cases, LASIK can have a negative impact on your quality of life.

Although you will experience some pain after LASIK eye surgery, you should not worry about this complication. If you follow your doctor's instructions, you should be back in business in no time. While some patients return to work within a few days after LASIK, others need several weeks. You should not wear contact lenses after LASIK eye surgery because they will cause a hazy vision.

For the first few days after LASIK eye surgery, you will be advised to wear protective eye shields to protect your eyes from dust and other irritants. You should also avoid strenuous activity and chemicals near the eye for two days. Once your eyes have recovered from the surgery, you can shower but be sure not to get any soap or water in them for at least a week. If your surgeon recommends you go for a long walk, you should do so.
